Stangers, Chapter 1: The Rushed Start

Welcome to the first chapter of Strangers... a quick warning though, is that there is some violence and some language... it would be rated about pg-14 or so. So for any 13 or younger years old... better go find another story.

I awoke in the cold dark room. I gazed around the room confused as to where I was. My hands ran over the cold metal floor. I heard screaming and shouting echoing around. I stood up and walked towards the door.

I placed a hand on the door, steadying myself. I began falling into the door, I watched as everything in the other room fell towards the end wall. I pushed through the door gripping the wall tightly.

I made my way threw the room. I watched as the beds scrapped along the metal floor hitting the wall. The sound echoed in the room. Making it unbearable. I rushed to the next door gripping to the handle as the ship fell more.

I stepped into the next room, blinded by a bright flash of light. I stumbled into a wall, I looked around but couldnt see clearly. The bright light buzzed around filling the room, people screamed, a warning sound filled the room making people panick more.

The light stopped, the warning signals continued. I rushed over to a desk and looked out the main window. I stopped gazing at the dark sky....space....I looked at the deep red fluttering off a planet. I stumbled as the light filled the room again.

The blinding light filled the room. I fell to my knees staring at the floor, screams got louder as metal broke and glass smashed. We hit the ground, lights flickered...metal snapped and crashed...glass shattered into tiny pieces. I fell onto the floor, my eyes going blurry....

The screams faded...smells of burning filled my nose...my head ached...I fell backwards...my eyes closing slowly...I hoped it was a dream...longed for it to be.....but...it wasnt...this was my reality...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We wandered away from the wrekage, smells of burning metal filled the cold air. I looked back at the ship, no-one was badly hurt..but we had arrived at our new home. It looked alot like Earth, similar trees, plants and sky..but it wasnt Earth...it was far from it. Arguments were breaking out already and everyone split into their own groups, no-one knew which way was right...they just hoped. I followed the people I felt I could trust most, and felt safer around. Derek, Drake, Carth and I set off....who knew what lay ahead...salvation...?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To say Drake was tired was an understatement. But he certainly was good at hiding it. He walked quickly and quietly, constantly scanning the horizon. It was starting to get darker...

Drake heard a loud sigh from his right, and turned. "Are you alright", he asked patting Robin's shoulder.

Robin nodded weakly, but Drake could tell she wasn't . She looked away with a grim face, and said nothing. She watched the colourful birds in the canopy above... while they weren't exactly gorgeous, things weren't exactly running away... that was a good sign that nothing dangerous wasn't around.

Carth dug his face into his hand, and turned to Drake. "Are we there yet", he asked trying to sound as childish as possible... truth be told, they had no idea what they were looking for...

Drake shrugged his shoulders, and brought his hand up to his mouth. "Has anyone seen Derek", he asked semi-panicked. He didn't wait for an answer. He just ran.

Robin's eyes widened as he ran. It was obvious that he had no idea where they were going, and now he was just going to get himself lost. She turned, and began walking slowly, occasionally calling out "Derek... where are you"?

She was sure that Carth ran off, and she began turning quickly... suddenly, she wished she could look away. She closed her eyes, as she felt like she was going to throw up... but she just had to do something!

She ran towards Derek, and began crying. "Derek... are you ok", she asked... he didn't move. She screamed, and cupped her hands around her mouth.

"Carth... Drake", she yelled obviously in a panick... she heard a rustle in the leaves, and turned. "Oh, Carth... thank goodness it's you", she said as tears began flowing even harded.

Robin tried to breath, but couldn't. Carth was in shock too, as his face remained grim. "What happened", he said with a sigh. Robin couldn't talk... "I don't know", she said with a raspy voice.

She could hear Drake coming, and quickly walked towards him. "He's dead", she cried, as she rushed towards him. She was scared... what was out there to kill them... wolves, spiders... maybe even monsters or aliens?

Drake walked towards the body, and sighed. "Run", he whispered as he heard leaves rustling, and a growl coming from behind a bush.

The next few minutes were a blur, but following their run, Drake turned and shouted "Where's Carth". Robin
began crying again, and slowed down.

"Where did we last see him", she said crying. They heard a low rustle, and saw a tree... it took her a bit to see the pale leg moving from behind the tree.

"We need to fight them off", Drake said exasperatedly. Robin nodded, but continued to cry. She raised herself into the air, prepared to launch herself at anybody.

Drake launched his hands out, as Robin began hovering. "Alright... no matter how many there are, we fight... if I tell you to run... you fly away", he said sighing.

He plunged his hands out, and began charging them. "You got it", he asked... there was no response. He turned, and sighed... "Horse crap", he muttered as he began running.

The flaming light at the end of his hands began to disseapear as he ran... all 3 of them were gone! He was the last human on this planet!

Suddenly a fist flew in front of his face, and he ran into the moving fist. To say it hurt, would be a dumb thing to say. The force was so strong, that it threw him back through the air.

As he laid there, unmoving, a girl screamed. And finally, the beast appeared.

He remembered a quiet dream... of the best thing he could ever know... and than suddenly, pain. As he laid there, he felt himself float above his body... He was dead. And yet when he saw Carth and Derek, he didn't see Robin... could she still be alive?

The creature smiled evily as he left. 3 bodies, and the beautiful girl all to himself... what a full day! Now all that was left was to enjoy the feast, and enjoy some alone time with the girl. But he had to hurry before the others showed up...

Author's note:
Thanks for reading. Chapter 2 will be out soon. This was a lot of fun to write, and we hope you enjoyed it, despite the fact that it had alot of unanswered questions. The next chapter will have some answers, but also a lot more questions... the point of this series is to think about what's coming in the next chapter, and begin considering what will happen next... Feel free to comment either here, or on the boolProp thread.
